Norman Named To NABC Honors Court

LAS VEGAS -
UNLV men's basketball guard Tyler Norman has been named to
the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors
Court for 2009-10, the organization announced this week.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes collegiate basketball
student-athletes who excel in academics during the season.
It also acknowledges the talents and gifts that these men
possess off the court and the hard work they exhibit in the
classroom.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, an athlete must
meet a high standard of academic criteria, which includes:
being a junior or senior academically and a varsity player,
having a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at
the conclusion of the 2009-10 academic year, having
matriculated at least one year at their current institution,
and also being a member of a NCAA Division I, II, III or
NAIA school.
Norman, who was a junior on the 2009-10 Runnin' Rebel
basketball team and will be a senior this fall is a physical
education major with a cumulative GPA of 3.34. He attended
Iowa State before returning to Las Vegas, where he attended
Faith Lutheran High School.
Last season for the Runnin' Rebels, Norman appeared in seven
of UNLV's 34 games. The team had an overall record of 25-9
and made its third NCAA Tournament appearance in the last
four years.
